Daily Bible Verse 2010-08-19
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised
us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7
in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7

Thought for the day

Crucified with Christ!
“For
through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but
Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”
(Galatians 2:19-20).
Paul has had his death with Christ. He has given up and proclaims to be
“dead to the law” (19). He has died to himself, giving up relationships that have any kind
of influence on him that would keep him away from a relationship with God, as if he was truly dead.
Have
we given up totally to Christ everything that would keep us from having the right relationship with Him? This
is where we need to be today, we need to die to the self-centeredness and give up relationships that would draw us away from
having a relationship that we should have with the Father in Heaven. We have to trust the Lord to guide
us to relationships unto Him. There is no one person that we can trust as fully as we can trust God himself.
God brings what we need, when we need it in a soul mate, a best friend, and a confidant. We have
to trust in a God that loves us so much more than anyone on earth. We can know that “Christ lives
in us” and have eternal life. Have you been “Crucified with Christ?”
